Congratulations Ashley!!

With a final round 72, student Ashley Armstrong claimed an AJGA win at the Coca Cola Junior Championship at Boyne Creek in Michigan. Her 8-under par total of 208, bested the field of 36 girls by four shots. Ashley is without doubt one of the hardest workers I have ever taught, and I am very happy to see her win. Hopefully, this will give her more confidence going into her freshman year at Notre Dame in the fall. (link)

2011 Playing School

I am extremely excited to announce the debut of the 2011 Playing School.  For the past few years I have wanted to do an instructional school that focus’ completely on playing, but had not been able to see it through.  This year we are going to give it a try.  In mid-July, I am bringing in two PGA Tour players, Michael Bradley, 4 time PGA Tour winner, (Bradley Bio) and Dicky Pride, 1994 Fed Ex St. Jude Classic Champion (Pride Bio).  Their caddies will accompany them for what is sure to be a one of a kind experience to personally talk, discuss and actually play with current PGA Tour players.

This school is designed for the higher level junior, collegiate, or adult player, who really wants to know what it takes to play at the highest level of professional golf.  You will have the chance to not only witness first hand how a Tour player plays, but also how they prepare for playing.

For more information pull up my website www.kevinweeksgolf.com and click the 2011 Playing School tab.  Space is limited.

Congrats Michael Bradley

HUGE Congratulations to Michael Bradley, I cannot tell you all how excited and proud I am of Michael.  Three years ago Michael really bought into working on improving his putting...and how rewarding it must be now to see that work pay off.  Way to go MB, congrats on your second win in Puerto Rico.

PGA Teaching and Coaching Summit

I spent the last two days attending the PGA of America Teaching and Coaching Summit, a biennial event of PGA Professionals interested in instruction and coaching. Because I always want to find ways to be a better instructor and coach, I value these events and the relationships of those I've met from around the country who share the same passion for teaching.

Congrats to Mark Wilson on His Sony Open Win

What a great start to the year for Mark. I know Mark put a lot of work into his game and fitness over the off-season. I try to stress to my students that to be successful you must work at it, especially during the off-season with no competition, its the best time to make important changes. I don't think anyone jumps off the couch after the winter and win's on the PGA Tour, a ton of work goes on behind the scenes. Congratulations to Mark on his third win and qualifying for the Masters.
